The solution which came up was the beginning of the Delhi Metro Rail. Metro rail service in Delhi acts as gift to the society. It was fixed up to solve the traffics problems arising in Delhi. Now the people can travel at faster speed than before resulting in saving a lot of time.

Metro rail proves to be helpful in reducing the traffic in the city. The construction of Metro rail is still moving in other parts of the city to cover Delhi by the year 2010. Delhi Metro is furnished with modern facilities. Security within the metro rail has been give prime importance. The train ensures the safety and comfort of passengers with hi-tech compartments having adequate security cover. The compartments are fully automatic with gates being operated automatically and there are emergency exits in the train. You can communicate with the driver of the train at any point in case of an emergency.

The intension behind designing Metro Rail is to reduce traffic on the road and to provide comfort to the passengers. A lot of parking place is been provided by every station of Delhi Metro so that the people can park their vehicles and utilize the metro service. DMRC has given an international look and facilities in these stations. There are special facilities such as escalators and lifts are available for the senior citizens and handicaps people. The ticket system is fully computerized. DMRC also offers an option to its daily travelers of possessing travel card freeing from spending the time for tokens.

As of April 2010, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) runs more than 100 train’s everyday between 6:00 to 23:00. The trains bear 4 to 6 coaches. The construction of Delhi metro started in 1998. In the year 2002, the first section i.e. the Red Line is opened which is than succeeded by the Yellow Line in 2004, the Blue Line in 2005, the branch line in 2009 and the Green Line in 2010.
The Metro Train of Delhi, is operating on the following lines, which are mentioned below:

Delhi Metro Line One: Red Line
The beginning line of Delhi Metro Rail is the Red Line to be operating between Rithala in the west to Dilshad Garden in the east; which travels a distance of about 25.09 kilometers
This line has eighteen stations on the way.
Delhi Metro Line Two: Yellow Line
The Yellow Line was the second line of Delhi Metro which connects Jahangirpuri with Central Secretariat a covers 17.36 kms.The northern part of the line is lifted, while the rest of the part is kept underground. This line also has the country's deepest Metro station at Chawri Bazaar, which is located 30 m below ground level.This line has ten stations on the way and it travels 11 km.

Delhi Metro Line Three: Blue Line
The third line to be operating between Barakhamba and Dwarka Sector 9. This line has twenty eight stations on the way and it travels 29 km. The Blue Line was the first line of the Delhi Metro which connects the outside areas of Delhi. This line connects Dwarka in the west with Noida in the east. It covers a distance of 47.4 kms. This line intersects the Yamuna River between Indraprastha and Yamuna Bank stations.
The services of the Metro train of Delhi start its service from 6am in the morning and leave the station at 10pm in the night.
As of June 2010, the whole of Phase-I and parts of Phase-II are complete, with the network comprising 5 lines with 107 metro stations and a total length of 124.47 km.
Green Line
The Green Line is the most recent line of the Delhi Metro, which is to be introduced as of 2010.The fully upgraded line connects Mundka with Inderlok, covering a distance of 15.1 kms.
